Committed
to
Lives
of
Excellence
Delts are committed to
lives of excellence. Excellence is a pretty broad term, so to
bring it back down to earth we think of it as continually
striving to improve the quality of our endeavors. To be
committed to lives of excellence, we have to both intend and act
on our mission.
Truth,
Courage,
Faith
& Power
Part of Delta Tau
Delta's foundation is Truth. Truth is fundamental built
on values and is a prerequisite to brotherhood. Courage
is incorporated into a life of excellence through a Delt's
thoughts and actions. It means being a leader in the face of
adversity and aggressively taking on challenges. Faith
means trust and confidence in God as well as fidelity, loyalty,
and honor among men. It is necessary for our stability as a
Fraternity and as men. Power, another value woven into
the Fraternity's fabric, is the inherent ability, the
intellectual strength, and moral superiority that continues to
keep us looking as well as moving forward.
Integrity
Integrity means doing
what you say you're going to do. Actions must be consistent with
your words and a good Delt lives up to the words he has stated.
Integrity allows to establish credibility, as individuals and as
a fraternity.
Accountability
Accountability means
keeping your promises and holding yourself responsible for your
words and actions as well as holding others responsible for
their words and actions. Accountability bonds us together as a
group and allows us to depend on one another.
Life
Long
Learning
& Growth
This value deals
directly with attitude. If learning is a constant privilege, a
process of exploring and expanding your horizons, you will grow
immensely you will find your yourself living a satisfying,
excellent life.
Strengthening
Community
Strong community is
essential to our vitality as individuals and as a fraternity. A
life of excellence is not a life lived in a bubble; It is a life
spent interacting with those around you, especially our
community.
Brotherhood
While we all come from
diverse backgrounds, cultures, family histories, we are held
together by brotherhood. Brotherhood sustains our organization
as we interact with one another -- supporting and challenging
each other to live a life of excellence.
