Bio:
Nate grew up in a small logging community on the northern boarder of Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho (the real U of I) where he studied visual communications, psychology, and film. He is a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKΛ) fraternity. He lived in the AKΛ U of I chapter house for two years, where he filled the roles, kitchen manager, and song leader. He graduated in 2004 and has been active in AKΛ alumni events. Every year the alumni of the Fraternity hold a competition over Labor Day weekend call Decathlon. Nearly 100 AKΛ alumni travel from around the country to compete in the two day event consisting of 10 games including Bocce ball, mini golf, darts, bowling, egg toss, free throw, doge ball, badminton, horse shoes, and caps (a traditional AKΛ game consisting of throwing folded bottle caps into a glass). In 2008 Nate won the title of Decathlon champion, and for a year he was the custodian of the traveling trophy, “The Decathlon Cup”, which resembles the Stanly Cup. Nate has yet to win another title. After graduating from the U of I he worked as a building contractor and Real Estate agent in Boise Idaho until the Fall of 2010 when he enrolled in the University of South Dakota School of Law program. He is currently in his second year of working on a joint Juris Doctor/Masters of Public Administration degree. In law school, he is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team; Philanthropy chairmen for the Public Interest Network; competes in intramural Flag Football, Volley Ball, Tennis, Racquetball; and also competes as the team captain for the law school soccer and softball teams. When near the ocean he is also an avid surfer. He plans to graduate from law school in the spring of 2013.
